ABOUT JGARF

James Garner and his beloved "NICKY" he rescued in the middle of a desert when

he was trying to quit smoking.

("NICOTINE" AKA "NICKY")

Unfortunately, when actor James Garner passed away at the age of 86 on July 19th, 2014, there was no funeral, no memorial service or any way for his fans to pay their respects. Perhaps somewhat difficult to understand, “Mr.G” did not want anybody making a fuss over him.

There was also no charitable foundation set up in his name and it took a while for his daughter, Gigi Garner, to finally figure out how she wanted to genuinely honor his legacy.

In addition to taking over his brand and production company, Cherokee Productions,

(www.cherokeeproductions.com)  she would like to keep his name relevant, and hopes that his fans will never forget him...

GIGI GARNER IS ON A PASSIONATE MISSION!

"The Thrill of it All"

"People have been given the huge responsibility of having dominion over animals, which I believe means that it is our duty as human beings to take care of them. They are innocent unconditionally loving creatures at our mercy, and there is no excuse for animal abuse." - Gigi Garner

Significant research backs up the finding that there is a direct link between acts of cruelty to animals and violence toward humans. This includes child abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse and other violent behavior. It is an important indicator that must not be ignored. Animal abusers are five times as likely to harm other humans. Education is key to turn our world into a more humane place for all living creatures.

Ms. Garner believes any sport humans use an animal for, is never going to be "safe"   She thinks we should NEVER use animals for our "entertainment" when lives of innocent creatures are at risk of injury and/or death. If humans want to engage in risky sports they can choose to do so. Animals have no choice. The animal abuse caused by humans is insurmountable. Humane people must be educated about things like: BREEDING, HORSE RACING, DOG RACING, COCK FIGHTING, THE IDITAROD, THE CIRCUS, AQUARIUMS, ZOOS, KILL SHELTERS, HUNTING, etc...

and "conservation" is a myth!

Gigi Garner feels it is has been a true life blessing to have been able to donate her time and resources to rescue organizations and rescuers in need. She takes her mission very seriously.

Over the years she has:

  • trained her own rescue dog to work as a pet therapy dog at Scripps Hospital

  • paid all medical expenses for rescues & made home checks for adoptions

  • helped rescue many dogs from becoming food in other countries

  • launched a successful campaign for more animal cruelty officers

  • personally rescued animals out of dangerous situations

  • adamantly supports no kill animal rescue organizations

  • spoken out publicly against animal abusers, hoarders and breed discrimination.

Ms. Garner has made many connections with key animal rescuer partners, advocates, fosters, vets and shelters and she is very active on social media. She believes in sticking up for the underdog, just like her father did!!!
